Interesting that the blocks they aquired lie outside of the 2D survey area aquired in Sierra Leone and the NWAAM survey. The attraction for Chevron, Noble and Odye certainly appears to be getting as close as possible to Sabu-1 and the HDY lease, rather than any existing 2-D survey data.

 

I tried to include all pertinent information pertaining to the proximity of the lease blocks in question to the HDY well and deep water fans for those who may not be fully up to speed. For those not familar, the full extent of the HDY lease and additional identified prospects are not shown on this map. The extensive coverage of 2D surveys conducted by HDY are not shown. Nor is the density of the 2D and 3D survey grids conducted by HDY shown here. The density of those survey grids is considerably greater than that of the NWAAM survey.
