I would not use the past tense here as you did. Maybe future conditional. We really have seen nothing so far but a picture and a prayer. IMO as I said this product could be a 'contender', sooner or later. Maybe later, maybe not at all. IMO careful scrutiny is in order. To use your analogy, we have yet to see shops opening around the block or any change in pricing power.
