renewed statements of concern by Catholic leaders, the Obama
administration is done negotiating and will finalize its plan requiring
insurance companies to provide free contraception to women working and
studying at religious institutions, President Obama's chief of staff
Lew told "Fox News Sunday" that the compromise offered last week to
address objections by the Catholic Church is clear and consistent with
the president's "very deep belief that a woman has a right to all forms
of preventive health care, including contraception."
Some people will be stupid enough to fall for this. I wonder where there is established law that says that the government can force a private company to give away free anything unless it is part of a court settlement. Of course, the next step on the "Road To Serfdom" is that since we are giving away free stuff, we want to be able to control your behavior so that society does not have to pay for all that free stuff. A slippery slope indeed.
