Energy in Israel

I created this group to be a forum where serious investors can discuss public companies and relevant information about the quest to build domestic energy sources in Israel.

I'll state right up front that my primary interest is in a company called Adira Energy (www.adiraenergy.com), which is traded in the U.S. as "ADENF" and on the Toronto Stock Exchange as "ADL" . I'm heavily invested in Adira, but very interested in the "big picture" as well. Other public issues of interest include Zion Oil (ZN) and Noble (NBL) as well as Bontan (BNTNF) and Givot Olam (GOOXF.pk). ATP Oil & Gas (ATPG) may become involved in the region also. There are many Israeli companies involved that are listed only on the TASE and those are also fair game for discussion.

Even though this is an investor forum, a number of private companies are working in this space (and not only in Oil and Gas) and their activities may be of interest, including "Better Place," which is working to establish an electric vehicle infrastructure in Israel. There are likely solar, geothermal, and wind players as well, and I am hoping to learn more about those ventures.

The geopolitical situation in the region is of course highly germane to investing in this area and I am hoping we can have some quality discussion around those topics, religion included. I am a Christian and I have an ideological bias towards Israel and in supporting energy independence for Israel. Adira Energy's motto is "Energy In Israel For Israel" and that pretty much sums it up for me too. Please do label completely off-topic discussions as such.

Finally, I believe a quality discussion board will have posters who contribute facts, analysis, and educated speculation to the board, along with other useful and meaningful stuff. Ad hominem, on the other hand, has no place here, and to the fullest extent possible I hope this can be a group free of personal attacks.

Maybe this will be one of those groups that attracts zero interest. I hope not - this is a topic with many extremely interesting areas and angles for discussion and involvement in this space could potentially yield huge profits for the savvy investor.
