Just my view, but it is a play that is highly leveraged to the price of oil in a low/falling oil price environment.  Bound to do poorly in this environment, especially since it has to pay/borrow to drill wells and then need to get a quick return on the wells before production falls off, and low oil price mean the early high production does not pay off as well.

 

That said, great stock to be holding if oil prices are rising, again because of the leverage.
