Re: Accounting issues again? ... multiple downgrades hit stock.I do not hear much on this board about the quality of assets that are being used to generate these dividends. Also could the parent company use CIM to lay off more speculative operations?.... keeping them separate from the parent's balance sheet? I just cannot believe that last part of the post... "....hedge funds are continuing to short REITS because they do not understand that the earnings ..... are paid out of the real estate portfolio." How can they be referred to as savvy astute financial sharks of Wall St.. often preying successfully on retail and professional investors alike... and still be so dumb as not to understand some basic concepts and accounting principals.? And note that this is not just one shark but a whole fleet of them all coming to the same conclusion... perhaps they have been watching the 5 year chart line? ... Looks like a ski slope to me. Maybe the prudent thing to do is wait and see if events turn more sour than this week's news seem to indicate. Might just want to walk away from this stock... or like a moth to the flame wait until a better entry point is offered... hard to pay much less than zero... don't cha think? Meanwhile you might want to check out the most recent news release ... Motley Fool Fri June 22 "This Just In : Chimera's Downgrades. Just another example why I beat this same drum over and over.... MREITS are much riskier than regular REITs and often can spring surprises.... none of them pleasant surprises. ***PinewoodsBear***
