Re: City of Oakland going ..boris
"Precious metals are very much a political breed of animal, perhaps more so than any other sector (with the possible exception of energy,) and investment in such areas is best undertaken with some appreciation of the political environment."
Yes but they need not be partisan BS politics. I know hardcore Liberals and Orthodox GOP'rs who both own and swear by PMs.
My personal politics are way different than yours (I am guessing by your post) and G9s (aging guessing by his posts) yet all three of us are here. I am a very hardcore PM bull and was such when W was in office am now with B.O. in office and will still be so no matter who sits in the WH as long as the PMs are the correct choice. I doubt many people can really point to things in the day to day operations of their life that are different because of who sits in WH. As a business owner I assure you the bureaucrats do not change no matter whose picture hangs on the wall behind them.
Sure politics plays a huge role in the monetary mess that has led some and will most likely lead many more to PMs. But it is not the same type of politics that drove Rugger sales in 2009 or upticks in ex-pat status for many in 2004. It is important to maintain a level head when making important decisions about our future. Angry, one sided hatred of either political party is not in the best interest of that level headedness, and I believe those whose desire it is to keep the frothing and yelling alive know this all too well.
PS> Welcome to the IV PM board. Please do not let partisan crap restrict or overrun your sharing here. I am curious since you are new to here, are you new to PM investments? If so what got you here? Why now?
