Re: LNG exports
I think as far as Canada goes they have no choice but to expedite LNG projects regardless of the price. Unfortunately, keep in mind LNG markets are going to get whacked with Austrailian and US capacity coming on line so don't count on huge returns over the long haul. With the convenient Rich Uncle to the south no longer dependent on anyone for natural gas for the foreseeable future what are Canada's alternatives to LNG? For that matter Canada may no longer be able to depend on the US to soak up expensive oil from the sands or elsewhere. If the US stops taking their hockey players Canada is going to have to reapply for colony status with the UK...With Europe in the crapper and many US manufacturing companies now incetivised to return home the world may look a lot different in ten years or less. For many smug welfare state countries dependent on hard core competitive market driven countries to fund their entitlement societies the landscape is changing and these external funds look to dry up...As Margarat Thatcher said "Socialism is great until you run out of other people's money". Looks like other people's money is running out...
