Exactly he did not plant winter wheat. Funny thing is we had a real rainy spring around the Oklahoma City area. He could of had a nice wheat crop. I wonder if he had some kind of government incentive to plant corn, some kind of guaranteed contract. Because planting corn around here is like trying to hit a gut shot straight on the river, it just is a terrible bet. Unless you have some water source, and irrigation 4 out of 5 times you are gonna get screwed.
I think what happened is the warm weather in February and March made him brave, and he decided to gamble that by planting early he could get his crop in with the spring rains and before the heat. He almost made it, needed 1 more good rain and the hat weather to hold off 2 weeks.
