Theres always been different Americas..the rich and poor as in the Mississippi delta versus wealthy areas of New York.
As it gets ever worse one has to wonder why the underclas are not rioting in the streets. But they dont.
What we have is a sick sick country that hs been in intensive care with DR. Bernanke infusing drugs to try and keep Mr. America from collape.
Wealth ineqality is similar to 1929. And this is why in part aggregate demand is so slow.
But if Mr. America can temporarily get somewhat better, the money sloshing around int he system doing nmothing could start to eb channeled into economic activity ande the economy could get stronger.
A positive growth shock here is not out of the question. It could send the marekt soaring short term.
But all is dependent on fiscal and monetary largess.
