So it sounds like AMD going free-agent with GloFo has also freed GloFo to come up with new business models of its own. Here it sounds like they will be using both FD-SOI and FinFET, which normally would offer the same advantages as each other, but now it seems they are using them complementarily. The strained-silicon seems to be odd technology out in this case. Looks like they are giving up on it.
