The hard core GOP platform is simple: Starve The Beast.
By giving tax dollars away to the rich (at least that is where the Lions share of bush tax cuts went),
spending money on two wars (not paid for), funding crop subsidies for rich corporations, and
loop holes for business, etc., all have led to the deficit.
So now that there is a deficit, created by legislation, the GOP now says the only solution is to cut programs.
That is the end result of Starve the Beast. They saw no other way to cut social spending for mostly the middle class.
I was and remains a diabolical plan to alter the social fabric of this nation.
So when things like a no tax increase pledge happens, we need not wonder what is behind it. STB.
