Using Ignore Reply Feature

I use the ignore replies to ignored posters feature and it works when I look at the board in its entirety but if a I just read the board message by message, by clicking "next" , the replies show up, even though ignored messages (members) do not.

Is this a glitch or can it be rectified?

I use a MAC OS X. and Safari with no other issues.
